THE final fundraising coffee morning and table top sale for CRY, which gives care and relief for the young in the poorest countries in the world, took place on December 2 at Lapford Victory Hall.

The morning raised £213 and one of the organisers, Grace Hill, thanks everyone who supported it.

She said that over the past 10 years, with two events each year, they have raised £5,500 for the charity.

She added that her father Edwin Passmore now has health problems, and the Rev Ray Avent is over 80, so it was time to stop, but added that she was delighted that it had such a good ending.

The end of an era, she added!
