LANDSCORE Primary School in Crediton has continued uploading work for the pupils now that the Easter holidays are over.

During the Easter Holidays teachers kept in touch with pupils and their families uploading videos and challenges onto their virtual school website.

These included a physical challenge, a growing challenge and an Easter Egg hunt which featured pictures of school staff with eggs hidden in the background.

Since returning to school, subject-based activities have been uploaded on a daily timetable using a variety of online programmes, worksheets created by the teachers and ideas for practical activities.

Pupils are sending in pictures of their work and the other activities they have been up to and the staff are not only responding to pupils individually but also uploading photos onto learning blogs for their peers to see. Pupils have also received personal telephone calls from their class teachers.

In addition, daily challenges are set by the teachers through videos uploaded onto the website. So far this term, challenges have included Miss Maddison’s Wacky Reading Challenge, Mrs Williams’ Dance Challenge, Miss Davey’s Aeroplane Challenge, Mrs Houston’s Food Art Challenge and Miss Brown’s Toilet Roll Challenge.

Landscore is still providing care for the children of key workers, and these children have been busy too.

They have completed work set by teachers, taken part in daily challenges and have also created a video saying “Thank You” to the NHS, which is on the school website.

Mrs Main, Headteacher, said: “We are really impressed with how well the pupils have adapted to changes in school, both those still coming into school and those working at home. I would like to thank all the staff for their positivity and ability to develop new and exciting challenges and activities, and all our parents for supporting their children so amazingly at this challenging time.”
