FOR the past 18 months, Landscore Primary School, Crediton have been working closely with four other schools, in Gloucester, Poland, France and Sweden.

Teachers have been visiting each country to work with colleagues, planning curriculum activities for the children to develop their understanding of the different cultures in Europe.

A French Day followed a recent trip to France.

One of the main parts of the day was the French Market.

The idea was that Landscore "sold" bread, cheese, ham and apples to all the children in school so long as they asked for them in French.

The market was run by Mr Read, Mrs Thom, Mrs Hurved and eleven children from Mr Payne's class.

Head teacher, Gary Read said: "It was fantastic to hear five year old children saying "Je voudrais du pain et frommage."
