THE Lamb Inn, Sandford, have won an award for being the "Best Pub in Devon" at an awards ceremony held at Plymouth National Aquarium in October.

"Food and Drink Devon" and "Love the Flavour" held the awards ceremony at the National Aquarium and the Lamb Inn beat the California Country Inn, Modbury, and the Milbrook Inn of South Pool, both from South Devon.

The Lamb's head chef Toby Lin said he was "delighted" to receive recognition for his "outstanding world-class cooking", while the judges also mentioned the Lamb Inn's "wonderful atmosphere".

Landlord, Mark Hildyard, also said he was "delighted" and said he was taking five members of staff to the finals of another awards ceremony to help celebrate.

The Lamb is also one of three finalists in the "Gastro-Pub of the Year" competition organised by Devon Life magazine.
