A LADIES Pamper Evening in aid of local charity, Hospiscare, held at the Boniface Centre in Crediton was such a success that it raised £1,409.12 for the charity.

The event was held during the evening of Friday, November 6, and as well as stalls from local traders there were therapists who offered treatments.

Hospiscare Crediton committee volunteers served refreshments and helped run the evening.

One of the volunteer organisers, Julie Cole, said afterwards: “We raised an amazing £1409.12.

“The evening was most enjoyable for all who came and supported this event.

“We must thank all the therapists who came and gave up their time for the wonderful treatments and a special thanks to all the local traders who not only gave up their time but also gave us 10 per cent of their takings.

“In addition, we must also say a huge thank you to the local businesses for their sponsorship of the event.

“Our hard working committee were delighted with the results, and we would be only too pleased if anyone feels able to help us fund raise in the future.”
