HOT Pins Knit and Natter Group and Evans Newsagents customers raised £752.42 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal this year.

Members of the Hot Pins Knit and Natter Group, which meets regularly at Evans Newsagents in Crediton, raised £442.42 towards the total by knitting dozens of poppies, which were sold in the newsagents.

In addition, £310 was raised in donations at the newsagents thanks to generous donations from members of the public.

The Hot Pins group members were Sheila Job, Elizabeth Mason, Cynthia Street, Janet Conibear, Margaret Dayle, Wanda Bunch, Ann Ramsey and Ann Eakers.

In addition, they contributed to a Poppy-themed window display at the shop at 10 High Street, Crediton.

The window display was created by Nick Ashweek along with other staff at the shop and the owners, Tara and Paul Conabeare, and using some of the knitted items created by the Knit and Natter Group.
