LOCAL dog groomer, Karla Gregory, of Groomed To Pawfection in Crediton is raising money for two charities.

The first charity is YoungMinds the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. This is charity Karla can relate to as it was her specialism during her previous nursing career.

The second charity is Headway Devon, which supports people who have suffered head or brain injury. This charity is close to Karla’s heart because her husband Andy sustained a head injury whilst cycling seven years ago.

Karla completed the Rock Solid Race 2016 at Escot Park, Exeter last month, when 5,000 people took part in the gruelling obstacle course which included "infamous inclines, lush lakes and mud."

She said: "The race has great camaraderie, people will go back to help and support others.

"I’ve already signed up for the Rock Solid Race 2017."

On July 31, Karla will be taking part in the Prudential RideLondon - Surrey 100 and is training hard for the 100-mile cycle ride which will take riders through the capital and into the Surrey countryside.

Karla hopes to raise £2,000, giving each of her chosen charities £1,000 each.
