ON Saturday, September 3, the ladies of Trenavin Close in Crediton held a Coffee Morning in aid of Hospiscare.

Judi Spiers arrived in her Mercedes, on loan for the day, to open the event and brought along Gus Honeybun who, with Judi, was well-known on Westward Television and TSW.

Gus Honeybun and Judi would announce children’s birthdays and Gus would always do a special Birthday Bounce! They also sent out cards to the children who didn’t get their birthday’s announced on the programme.

Lorna Dimond, together with Sarah Haley, Linda Haley, Caroline Stoyle, Amanda Squires, Nicola Archer, Sheralyn Rawlinson and Georgina Marks, who all live in Trenavin Close, organised the event and made a selection of delicious cakes and sponges.

They all wore pink carnations and the area was adorned with pink balloons.

There was also a grand draw, with excellent prizes, some donated by the Old Fire Station Steakhouse, Co-Op, Peck and Strong, Ernest Jackson, Tesco, Grape and Grain and Melanie Rice.

Lorna Dimond expressed her thanks to everyone who supported this event which, she said, had raised an amazing £800 for Hospiscare, which also included some generous donations.

Judi thanked everyone for all their hard work and support.
