JIM Thatcher, of Once Read Once Loved bookshop in Crediton, was delighted to present a second of six cheques that are planned for Hayward’s Primary School.
This time the figure reached £185.80 thanks to the amazing donations, together with household goods, collectables, small items of furniture, cd’s, dvd’s and of course books.
Jim said: “Our community continues to show support for us and the children of our town.
“We, headteacher Mr Smith and the children thank you again."
Mr Smith said: ”This kind donation, alongside the one received previously, will be used to boost the Accelerated Reader book stock in our library.
“The programme helps tracks a child’s comprehension skills and ensures that books are ’at the right pitch’ for children of all ages.
“The children at Hayward’s are very engaged in the programme, which can also track the number of words read by children as they go through the year.
“Dylan, Grace and Ella have read an amazing three million words plus in this year alone!"
Mr Smith added: “Many thanks to Jimmy again for his brilliant support and generosity."
