AFTER last week’s article from CODS about the forthcoming show “Sister Act”, which introduced you to this year’s leading lady, Buffy May, now meet Sweaty Eddie played by James Billington.
James will be making his CODS debut and he says he is thrilled to reprise the role of Sweaty Eddie, which he performed at the Northcott Theatre in 2015.
James has a wonderful voice and you will certainly want to hear him sing.
Apart from Sweaty Eddie, James has performed many roles, including Peron (Evita), Pilate (Jesus Christ Superstar), Moonface Martin (Anything Goes), Chauvelin (Scarlet Pimpernel) and Sky (Guys and Dolls) for which he was nominated for a Rose Bowl Award.
Away from treading the boards, James works as a professional vocalist fronting a number of different acts including seven piece swing and party band, “All Jazzed Up”.
James is excited at making his CODS debut and hopes you enjoy the show as much as he does.
By now I am sure you are excited at the possibility of seeing such a fantastic musical in Crediton. So now is the time to give you the opportunity to purchase your tickets for “Sister Act”. The show is being performed at Queen Elizabeth Lower School, (Barnfield site), from Monday, April 6 to Saturday, April 11.
Many of you will have supported the Society in the past by purchasing your tickets from Perdie in Olivia James but this is now not an option. Tickets are priced at £15, or £12.50 for concessions, or £10 for those who are 16 and under.
These can be ordered through the Box Office link at: www.codsonline.com or by contacting Mike Canning direct on his mobile which is 07912551102.
We hope that you enjoy our performances and CODS looks forward to your support, as each year the musical production costs in the region of £20,000 to stage.
