LAPFORD Rose and Sweet Pea Show, which launched Lapford Revel Week, was well-supported with some excellent exhibits.
Judges were Bert and Margaret Jewell of Crediton. The overall winners for Most Points were: 1 Eileen Ridd, 2 Trisha Mumford, 3 Edna Copus.
Other results: Photography Pat West, Roses Trisha Mumford, Sweet Peas Eileen Ridd, any other flower, Sandra Munday, Vegetables (joint winners), Amanda Bailey, Edna Copus and EIleen Ridd, Fruit Trisha Mumford, Floral Art, Ann Stentiford, Biscuits, Sue Briant Evans.
Refreshments were served Paul and Eileen Ridd, Amanda Bailey and Pat Gowrie and Noel Parry ran the Draw.
The Revel Day Fayre was held on Saturday, July 6 and saw events held at the playing fields which included stalls, face painting, a children’s entertainer, a bouncy castle and a magician.
There was a tug-of-war competition, steam rides and City Steam Jazz Band entertained the revellers in the refreshment and beer tent.
In the dog show, Katy Vallance from Crediton took along her Labrador, 18-month-old Rocky, who was placed second in the Best Condition Class. This was Rocky’s first ever show.
