AFTER a cancellation due to Storm Callum, Irene Smallacombe from Crediton eventually did a tandem skydive with Skydive Buzz and raised £1,700 for Exeter Leukemia Fund (ELF).

The aeroplane left Dunkeswell Airfield on October 27 and climbed up to 15,000 feet where the outside temperature was minus 20 degrees.

Irene explained: "My instructor and I did a freefall for one minute for around two miles at a speed of approximately 120mph.

"The parachute then opened and a five minute return to earth gave lovely views of North and South Devon coasts and Lyme Bay.

" It was a lovely clear day and the views were exhilarating and breathtaking.

"It was something I had always wanted to do and it was a good way to raise funds for ELF.

"Thank you to all who supported me."

Anyone wishing to donate can still do so at the ELF shop 20 High Street, Crediton.
