AN intriguing talk entitled "Don’t Put Your Daughters on the Stage" will be given by Dr Francis Burroughs at the Boniface Centre in Crediton on Wednesday, April 27 in aid of the Holy Cross Crediton Campaign Roof Appeal.

The guest speaker is a retired school master and a director of several companies.

In his spare time he has been a church organist for more than 50 years, a keen flower arranger and is an acknowledged authority on antique glass.

He has many years experience as a public speaker and has conducted or produced more than 200 Amateur Operatic Society productions and, of course, not all the drama happens on the stage!

This talk distils the essence of that peculiar hobby of amateur dramatics and stars a donkey, an orange wig, a fire siren and a host of other guest appearances.

The talk begins promptly at 7.30pm. Admission will cost £10 and will include supper.
