ITEMS from the attics of Kingsnympton Park, North Devon are to be sold at Bearnes Hampton and Littlewood at the Exeter Auction Rooms, on Tuesday, September 27.
The sale includes some unique lots, such as The Kingsnympton Park bell with attachment, having inscription J Moon, 1870, Barum, which carries a pre-sale estimate of £100 - £200, a late 19th Century mahogany folding pool table, estimated at £40 - £60 and a mechanical rook scarer under a galvanised cover, which is expected to fetch £50 - £60.
There are Gladstone type bags, travelling trunks, paintings, ceramics and glass, works of art, collectables and furniture on offer in this unusual sale, as well as more quirky offerings.
The auction is on view on Saturday, September 24 from 9am to 12 noon and on Monday, September 26 from 9am to 5.30pm.
Kingsnympton Park is a Grade I listed property nestled in the rolling hills of North Devon and Bearnes Hampton and Littlewood have been tasked with selling a good number of choice pieces from the Estate in addition to the Attic Sale outlined above.
On October 4 and 5, additional items going under the hammer from the estate include a rare set of 12 Chinese Chippendale chairs, specially made for the house in 1754, which carry a pre-sale estimate of £10,000 - £15,000 and an 18th Century sundial by John Bird, which is estimated at £1,500 - £2,000, to name a few.
