CREDITON Pig Club brings together those in the Crediton area interested in obtaining locally-reared quality pork, and sharing information about pig-rearing and making pork products.

The club supports native pig breeds such as the Oxford Sandy and Black.

Member, Ruth Curtis explained: "Pigs are reared locally by our wonderful smallholders and there are opportunities to visit the pigs and bring them windfalls and other such treats!

"We also arrange talks, visits and activity days such as sausage-making.

"Members can reserve half or quarter pig shares – the deadline for this year’s pork is fast approaching."

If you are interested in getting involved, either as a potential smallholder, or by reserving meat, members of the Pig Club will be at the Sustainable Crediton Seed Share from 11am to 2pm tomorrow (Saturday, February 24) at the Boniface Centre.
