NEWTON St Cyres Parish Council would like to canvass the views of residents of the parish concerning future housing in the village and to identify how many households are in need of affordable housing.

In order to do so, the council has decided, in conjunction with Devon Communities Together, to conduct a housing need survey of the parish.

Devon Communities Together is an independent charity which will produce and analyse the survey on behalf of the Parish Council and the local authority.

The survey will be hand-delivered to all households in the parish in this November, with a closing date of December 16.

The Parish Council asks anyone who believes they are in need of affordable housing, either to rent or buy, to complete the form and register their need.

This will help the Parish Council and Local Authority to plan for the future and will ensure that the correct number, size and type of affordable homes are provided in the parish.

It says it is important that as many households as possible complete the form to provide it and Mid Devon District Council with the most accurate information available.
