I AM writing from Crediton Community Hospital in which I have been a patient for the last five weeks, following a week in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. The relief I felt in getting a bed here, and being looked after with such great care and kindness, has enabled me to make a speedy recovery. Despite the uncertainty facing the staff, nursing, cleaning and admin, the care has been unfailing. I understand there is potential for 15 beds here. Would staffing problems, particularly nursing staff, not be greatly eased if the future of this hospital was ensured. I am sure the visiting of friends in Crediton is another great aid to a speedy recovery - it certainly has been for me and would not have been possible had I been allocated to Tiverton or Okehampton.
