FIREFIGHTERS from Okehampton rescued a horse stuck in a ditch at South Tawton during the early evening of Saturday, August 21.

Two crews attended with a fire engine and 4x4 appliance.

Firefighters used strops and lines to pull the horse from the ditch.

The animal rescue equipment was also mobilised to attend from Exmouth, however the animal was rescued before it arrived.

Crews confirmed that the horse remained unharmed throughout the rescue.
