NEARBY homes were evacuated in the village of Tedburn St Mary on Friday, October 13 after explosives were found in a property.

A number of hand grenades from World War One and a round of aircraft ammunition were removed from the home by the Royal Navy Bomb Squad from Plymouth.

The residents were allowed to return to their homes at about 6pm after the Bomb Squad had given the all-clear.
