An EVENT to celebrate the re-opening of the A30 Junction, the Fingle Glen Junction gap, will be held at The Kings Arms Inn, Tedburn St Mary, tonight, Friday, April 17.

There will be a complimentary hog roast and "live" entertainment and all those involved in the campaign to re-open it have been invited.

The Highways Agency was told to re-open the Fingle Glen Junction gap it closed using temporary orders in October 2007, after it lost a Public Inquiry.

The Highways Agency said safety reasons were behind the closure but local residents objected and took the decision to a Public Inquiry.

The Inquiry, with Inspector, Neil Taylor, was held at Tedburn St Mary Village Hall for a week in September 2008.

The Inspector found in the favour of local residents and businesses.
