"WHEN we talk to people who live on their own we are often struck by how lonely they are", says Barry Shears, owner of Hillbrow Care Home in Park Road, Crediton.

Well aware of this and the consequences, Hillbrow has decided to set up a Lunch Club to help one or two elderly people who live on their own.

"Our dining room is not large but", says Barry, "we would like to invite those who come, to join in the meal with our residents.

"In this way everybody can have a good chat as well as enjoy a good, wholesome and balanced meal."

All you have to do is call Hillbrow on 01363 773055 a couple of days beforehand to let them know if you want to go along and confirm if you have any special dietary restrictions or preferences.
