JAMES, of James Antiques in Crediton has been passionate about antiques for the majority of his life.
After retiring from farming, he decided to make a living dealing in antiques and has been doing so for the last 20 years.
He started at antique fairs, before moving into shops in Honiton, Okehampton and eventually settling in Crediton 16 years ago.
James Antiques is a family run business with James, his wife Margaret and his daughter Jo all contributing both their time and ideas.
Stock is mainly focused on (but not limited to) country oak mahogany and pine furniture.
It also includes a large quantity of high-quality decorative art and French pieces, personally sourced from Northern France during the last 15 years.
As well as offering stock in-shop, James can also be recruited to find difficult pieces to fit your home.
James Antiques has appeared on Antiques Road Trip twice, with Charles Hanson, James Braxton and Philip Serrell visiting the door.
James keeps an accessible, neat shop and is always happy to talk to any customers who call in at the shop at 137A High Street.
Since lockdown James Antiques has been re-decorated, re-floored and the outside has been given a fresh coat of paint.
James is happy to buy items for cash (sorry no house clearances).
