TALENTED members of Crediton acting and singing society CODS presented two evenings at the Boniface Centre entitled “The Best of British”.

There was a red, white and blue theme for the patriotic occasion which included singing by individuals or a hearty choir of CODS members.

A band provided musical accompaniment and musical director for the evenings was Mike Canning.

A two-course meal of Sausage and Mash followed by Apple Pie and Custard was served by band members during the evenings.

The music included hits by Sting, Snow Patrol, Elton John, Coldplay, ELO, The Beatles, The Proclaimers, Ed Sheehan, Paulo Nutini, Queen, Sham Rock, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow, Adele, Handel, Bonnie Tyler and many more.

Harmonies were excellent and it certainly was a packed and varied programme.

Graham Liverton, Regional Councillor South West, National Operatic and Dramatic Association, was full of praise for CODS and said “CODS never disappoint”.

He added: “Crediton is extremely lucky to have a society of such a high standard.

“I travel miles to listen to them.

“CODS is known to be of quality.”

Each evening concluded with renditions of “God Save the King”.
