A WATER leak at the entrance to Cromwells Meadow has closed the road to Tiverton as you leave Crediton (today, Monday, January 12).

The leak at the burst water main is shooting jets of water up to 20 or 30 feet into their air.
South West Water contractors are at the scene with a mini digger trying to resolve the issue.
Gallons of water are flowing along Exhibition Road and into Bramble Lane and Willow Walk.
The road is closed from the roundabouts at each end of Exhibition Road but access can be made to Blagdon and Willow Walk area.

Access to Cromwells Meadow is possible from the Tiverton Road end.
It is not known if local water supplies are affected and when the repair may be completed or when the road will reopen.
It closed at about 3.30pm.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
Motorists are further advised that the road from Crediton to Tiverton will be closed for “investigation works” between the former Blue Cross animal centre and an unnamed road north of Cadbury on Wednesday, January 14 and Thursday, January 15.
