CREDITON Hamlets Parish Council held its monthly meeting on October 1 which saw a number of planning applications considered.
Applications considered: 18/00680l: Extension and re-landscaping of car park and alterations to hole 10 fairway and hole 12 tee and fairway at Downes Crediton Golf Course. It was resolved to support this application.
18/01459: Outline for the erection of five dwellings with associated landscaping to include new access and footpath link to the village, at North of Hill Barton Farm, Yeoford. It was resolved to support this application.
18/01472: Listed Building Consent for amendments to planning permission 17/00221 - Conversion to dwelling on land and buildings at Woodland Head. It was resolved to support this application
18/00958: Erection of agricultural building for livestock, hay and machinery on land at West Wallaby Farm. It was resolved to object to this application as the building seemed substantially larger than required to meet the needs of an enterprise of this size and with a very significant visual impact.
The design was considered poor in terms of its ventilation, which would be inadequate for housing livestock and therefore incompatible with the stated intended uses.
The Council concluded that the scale, layout and design of the building much more closely resembled an “industrial building”.
Planning decisions: 18/01059: Conversion of garage to lounge and utility room, link to main house and erection of front porch at 66 Westernlea, Crediton.
Planning Matters: Mid Devon District Council Planning Committee: It was noted that the following application would be considered on October 3: Remodelling and modernisation of existing garden centre at Crediton Garden Centre, Barnstaple Cross.
It was noted that Cllr Coren (MDDC) would speak in support of this application.
Defibrillator: It was noted that the Headmaster of Yeoford Primary School would prefer the defibrillator to remain locked and indicated that there would be insurance implications if it were not locked.
It was also noted that training was expensive and only lasted 12 months, and was not required as anyone can use the machine as they follow audible instructions.
Venues for Future Meetings: The Council considered options circulated by the Clerk. It was resolved to continue to try to use the Credition Offices.
Roads and Footpaths: Cllr Price referred to a sign for Yeoford “20’s Plenty” and will liaise with Cllr Nick Way (DCC).
MDDC District Councillors: Cllr’s Heal and Coren attended the meeting and Cllr Heal reported on the Local Plan Review.
The minutes and other information about the Council is available on the Crediton Hamlets Parish Council website: http://www.creditonhamlets.org.uk/ . Agendas are also posted on four noticeboards in the parish: Hookway, Yeoford, Westernlea and Woodland Head. Minutes are posted on the Yeoford and Westernlea noticeboards.
