ON the last Saturday of January, members of Morchard Bishop Bowling Club were responsible for the coffee shop in the Memorial Hall and they had a very successful morning.

Jean Moore had been busy making needlework and knitwear items and her stall had a variety of goods including knitted hats and mittens and her unique and popular cushion bags which are ideal when going to a concert or other event which may have hard seats.

There was another stall selling home-made produce such as marmalade as well as various bring and buy items.  These two stalls made £68.80p for Bowling Club funds and in addition, about £40 was raised for the Memorial Hall from a raffle and the sale of coffee and biscuits.

Coffee Shops in February will be run by St Mary’s Church, Morchard Bishop WI and the Gardening Club, promising another good selection of wares.

On February 11, there will be a Table Top Sale and Produce Market in the Memorial Hall with stalls selling among other things, plants, books, household goods, hand-crafted cards, home-made cakes, locally-produced meat and organic free-range eggs.

They will also be selling bacon sandwiches with the tea and coffee.
