CHARITIES and community organisations which carry out vital work to help vulnerable people can apply for government grants of between £10,000 and £75,000.

The support package, worth £76 million, opened on Monday, July 24 and will support frontline charities and community organisations struggling to meet increased demand for their critical services.

This includes the provision of food, emergency provisions, shelter, safe spaces, warmth, and financial or housing advice.

Organisations can apply for grants to cover core costs, including office rent, utilities, staff and volunteers, from now until the end of March 2024.

Central Devon MP and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Mel Stride said: “Over many years I have spent much valuable time with local charities and community organisations that provide vital support for families who need extra help.

"I would strongly urge such groups to visit: www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk , look at the eligibility criteria, and see whether they could benefit.”
