DOGS and their owners from across the South West headed to Morchard Bishop on Saturday, August 24, for its annual dog show.

There were five classes for pedigree dogs and 15 fun classes such as dog most like its owner, friendliest dog, fancy dress, best rescue dog and best child handler with a dog.

Judges were Laura Radcliffe and Geoff Lewis, both from Cornwall.

Best in Show for the pedigree dogs was the Gordon Setter, nearly two-years-old, shown by Jo Green of Witheridge.

Reserve was a German Shepherd shown by Sue Reynolds of Exeter.

Best novelty in the show and runner-up both came from Cornwall. Winner was Sandra Heathcote from Hayle, runner-up was Ellis Stephens from Launceston.

The number of entries was, again, good and the day raised about £500 to be shared between Devon Air Ambulance Trust and the Playing Field where the DAAT night landing site is.

Organisers of the dog show were Mo Sparrow with Dee Warren and Marina Caston with many friends from the village.
