MEMBERS of Downes Crediton Golf Club raised a record £3,478.06 for Devon Air Ambulance last year.
The enormous cheque was presented to DAAT volunteer Mrs Gillian Gunn at the club by last year's Lady Captain Rickie Pawsey and club Captain Gary Price.
Mr Price said contributions to the fund had included "a significant sum" from the Ladies Section plus £500 from Barry Austin, club Professional, and Andy Parker, course manager, when they ran in the Great West Run.
"This was a record amount for the club raised for a charity, but I think it will be beaten this year," he added. The air ambulance has landed at the club twice this year to help members.
