FIVE Scouts from Sandford recently took part in an expedition to complete all the challenges they needed to achieve the Chief Scouts Gold award, the highest award available to Scouts.

They walked for eight hours with kit and camped in a wood independently overcoming obstacles on the way.

They recently told the rest of the Scouts about their experience and the rest of the pack want to do the same in the future.

Their awards were presented by George Davey, Assistant District Commissioner for Mid Devon Scouts.

A plea for new leaders: Sandford Scouts, Cubs and Beavers are desperate for new Leaders. David Hope, Group Scout Leader, said: “The Groups have loads of fun with various activities including camping, hikes, bush craft, kite making and stargazing to name but a few!

It’s great to be involved...a bit noisy at times but definitely fun!

“Full training is given and DBS checks completed.”

Anyone interested in becoming a Leader should please contact Sandford Scouts, Cubs and Beavers on telephone 07931 362 633.
