IN one wet day, members of Crediton's two Rotary Clubs collected more than £1,000 for the Nepal Disaster Appeal, adding to the £500 already given by the Rotary Club of Crediton.

This had been converted to £1,000 through a match funded donation via the "Big Give".

On Saturday they were joined by members of Crediton Boniface Rotary Club collecting on the High Street, at the Farmers' Market and at the Tesco store.

Malcolm Wilkinson, press officer for the Rotary Club of Crediton, commented: "We are most grateful to the people of Crediton for giving such generous support. A remarkable achievement considering the poor weather on Saturday."
