Thanks also go to Gary for hosting meetings and functions at the venue.
The current year’s Poppy Appeal has reached £11,765 due to the generosity and kindness of the local community.
Branch treasurer, Jane Sansom, said: “A big thank you goes to all who supported the Appeal by collecting, donating or simply supporting our stall at the local farmers’ markets.
“All help is greatly appreciated. ‘Remembrance is not just once a year but everyday’, you do not have to be ex-service to become a member of the Legion or to help at local level.”
On Saturday, March 30 the Crediton Branch will be holding an informal set lunch at Poppy’s Cafe, Creedy Centre, High Street, Crediton for members and guests.
The lunch will be 1.15pm for 1.30pm.
The menu of chicken pie with creamed potatoes and a selection of vegetables and a dessert of summer fruits crumble or ice cream is at the cost of £8, payable on the day.
Prior bookings is essential, due to limited numbers. Please contact Jane on telephone 07989 934 810.
Jane continued: “Unlike the Annual lunch, individual letters/emails will not be sent out to members. This function will be advertised on the Branch’s notice board in the High Street, so watch this space.”
