MEMBERS of Cheriton Fitzpaine Garden Club are eagerly looking forward to their 90th Anniversary in June, 2016, when they plan a special event to celebrate.

Having obtained a Lottery grant towards the cost, last month they organised a 50/50 Auction Sale to make up the difference.

The Auctioneer was Committee member, Andrew Dean, who also obtained most of the donated items.

“Deano” deftly went through nearly 100 items, which were displayed by three ladies looking very smart in their aprons.

The Parish Hall was packed with bidders and interested villagers and trade in the tearoom was brisk, whilst amongst the many stalls, the one selling attractively displayed pots of spring bulbs did a roaring trade.

The final total raised, of more than £1,600, will enable the club to not only fund our event, but also to purchase a storage shed.

The organisers, Chairman Paula Mossman, Committee members Andrew Dean and Ann Nixon would like to thank, not only all the Garden Club members (and their friends and relatives) who helped with the auction, raffle, refreshments, stalls and children’s face painting, but also the following local businesses:
