CREDITON Library and Sustainable Crediton held the official launch of the new fridge at the library on Friday, May 19.

Mayor of Crediton, Cllr Liz Brookes-Hocking unties the ribbon to launch the new fridge at Crediton Library.

The ribbon was untied by Crediton Mayor, Cllr Liz Brookes-Hocking to launch the fridge. 

Dee Ross, on behalf of Sustainable Crediton, said: “We opened the Community Larder so food doesn’t go to waste and the fridge offers a wider range of food.

“As fast as we get the food in it goes out the door.”

Dee thanked Crediton Library, members of Sustainable Crediton and everyone who helped. 

Thanks also went to Crediton Lions Club for paying for the electrics to be installed for the new fridge.

Crediton Library and Sustainable Crediton would like to thank all the supporters of Crediton Food Larder including Co-op Local Community Fund, Crediton and District Lions Club, Crediton Town Council, FareShare food redistribution network, Food Rescue Project (delivered by Devon County Council, National Lottery Funded), Growing Communities Fund (Devon County Council), Crediton Tesco Superstore, Crediton Tesco Express, Four Seasons Greengrocers, The Green House Natural Food Store, Morrisons Supermarket, Stevie B’s Bakery, Rupert Geering and Stewart and Kerry Storey.

It is hoped that the Community Food Larder will continue to be a success.
