MID Devon District Council, to enhance trade in Crediton prior to Christmas, has approved five days when there will be free parking in the St Saviour's Way (High Street), car park in Crediton.

The free parking will apply on the five Saturdays before Christmas, November 23 and 30 and December 7, 14 and 21.

The free parking times will also apply to the multi-storey car park at Phoenix Lane, Tiverton.

District Councillor Bob Wright (Crediton) had hoped there would be free parking permitted for the late night shopping evenings in Crediton (November 28 and December 12) and Christmas Eve, but this was not approved.
