A CREDITON man is celebrating after he was placed fourth in his age category in the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon.
Frank Gent, who lives in Exeter Road, took part in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK's largest member-led epilepsy organisation.
Frank, (60), ran the 13.1 miles course through central London on Sunday, October 11, to help support the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.
Starting and finishing in Hyde Park, 15,000 runners made their way through the stunning landscapes of St. James's Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens. The run also took them past Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament.
Frank said: "The run went very well and I completed it in one hour and 45 minutes.
"I was recently diagnosed with a condition which causes me to have epileptic seizures. I hope to have raised several hundreds of pounds to help raise awareness of epilepsy and help others affected by the condition."
Katie Stocks, fundraising officer at Epilepsy Action, said: "We'd like to say a big 'thank you' to Frank for taking part in this event for Epilepsy Action. The money raised will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by epilepsy."
