Pictured is Anthony Powell of Ace Music, who with Margaret Tucker, put on an afternoon of entertainment for the residents of Hillbrow Residential Care Home, in Crediton. Margaret spoke about the 40’s and war years, which included rationing, clothing, air raid shelters, food and the shortages. The residents soon also told of their memories, of those years, and one lady told of her experiences in London during the bombing. In between this Anthony played appropriate music for the occasion, which included “I’m Getting Married in the Morning”, for the London lady who got married during the war. The pair concluded the entertainment with Anthony playing and singing the ever-popular Vera Lynn song, “We”ll Meet Again”. Photo: Margaret Tucker
