THERE will be an extra-special opening for the Crediton Food and Drink Festival as it kicks off a month-long Crediton Festival tomorrow, Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14.

Tomorrow's events, the Town Square, begin with the official opening for the Crediton Festival with representatives from Crediton's twin towns in France, Germany and the Netherlands expected to attend what will be a multi-lingual opening ceremony accompanied by trumpeters.

The Food and Drink Festival will run from 10.30am to 3pm tomorrow, with stallholders, demonstrations from local butchers and chefs before returning in the evening from 8pm to 11pm for a music-filled extravaganza with live jazz and jazz blues from The Moon Jazz Band featuring local singers and musicians.

All are invited along to this free event, buy some wonderful street food from one of the many stalls along with local ales and other drinks.

On Sunday there will be the Big Sunday Lunch preceded by a re-enactment of the Boniface Story in the Town Square.

During and after the lunch there will, again, be live music and plenty of stalls from which to buy food and drink to share with friends at the tables which will be set up around the Town Square.

Alongside all of these there will be regular activities for families and young visitors including a Treasure Trail, bread moulding, face painting and biscuit decorating.

Entry on the Sunday is also free and there will be a raffle for a prize draw on both Saturday and Sunday with a hamper made up of contributions from stallholders.
