THE final Heart of Devon Festival took pace on Saturday, June 16, at Bow Playing Field - and it certainly ended with a spectacular event.

Until late there was non-stop live music plus a range of stalls including crafts, plants and food, a bouncy castle and licensed bar.

The bands included: Eat the Rich, All Bar One Band, 60th Parallel, Em Sickle, Thomas Cameron, Bow Community Choir, The Honey Pot, Sitting Pretty, Horizonz, The Sanders Band, The Jazz Detectives and Entertainingly Different.

There was a fascinating display of vintage vehicles.

Admission was free-of-charge.

The organising committee said it had been a difficult decision to make the event, its ninth, the final one for the foreseeable future, especially as the organisers knew how much the event meant to many people.

They said that since 2009 the festival had grown each year and was now beyond what the small group of volunteers could manage.

Saying that, Heart of Devon will continue to run smaller events during the year at Bow Village Hall and will continue to support and promote local talent to bring live music to the area.
