CREDITON Town Square was alive and buzzing with festive spirit for an afternoon of carols, street theatre and "live" music performances organised by volunteers from Crediton Arts Centre and Crediton Rural Arts and Music Project (CRAMP).

The event ran from 2pm to 5pm and included Landscore Primary School Singers, Crediton World Music Choir, the Brown Paper Bag Theatre Company, Great Western Morris, QECC Jazz Band and good-time swing/jazz/blues trio, "Lips, Fingers 'n' Thumbs".

Crediton Town Council contributed £500 towards the cost of staging the event.

The square was decorated with a large Christmas tree and lights as well as banners.

There were stalls selling hot food and drinks from regular Farmers' Market traders and The Green House.

The event was a great success and was greatly enjoyed by the crowds of people who attended.
