ON a bitterly cold morning when Zeal woke up to see whiteness on the tops of the moors, it was so good to get into the village hall for the Advent Fayre and the smells of hot soup.

In aid of the parish church, the fair, held in the village hall, had tables full of all sorts of wonderful seasonal fare, cakes and puddings, and gift ideas as well as a most superb Father Christmas.

The Fayre raised a terrific total of £839.35 which will be used for St Peter’s Church funds.

On one table was a separate raffle in aid of BBC Children in Need.
