A CHARITY fashion show, held at the Boniface Centre in Crediton in April, raised an amazing £1,697 for two local charities, Hospiscare and The Turning Tides Project.
At a recent cheque presentation cheques were presented to Rebecca Botfield, Mid Devon community fundraiser for Hospiscare and to Dominic Palfreman, a manager at The Turning Tides Projects by organisers of the fashion show, Steph Firth and Janet Simpson.
The presentation was held at the site of the new Mole Avon store and chairman, John Lee, on behalf of Mole Avon and Tesco, said that it had been a fantastic partnership and a great evening. He had been very impressed with the fantastic models and happy that the event had benefitted Hospiscare and The Turning Tides Project.
Steph and Janet added: "We would personally like to thank the local community for all their support, particularly the local traders who made donations.
"We would also like to thank everyone who contributed to the show - our sincere personal thanks to you all."
The models, all of whom were volunteers, paraded down the catwalk to the joy of the enthusiastic crowd. The fashion show was divided into two halves with Mole Avon merchandise starting the show and Tesco wares being highlighted in the second half.
During the interval, The Turning Tides Project wowed those present with a beautiful acoustic music set. The evening closed with an auction of items donated by the organising companies.
