FARMING Community Network’s Market Chaplaincy Team, with Kivells Auctioneers, will be holding a Farmers’ Christmas Celebration at Exeter Livestock Centre on Monday December 19, from 7pm for 7.30pm.

The Exeter Salvation Army Band will lead the carol singing during the evening, which will include singing by the Orchard Harmony Choir.

The Rt Rev Robert Atwell, the Bishop of Exeter will speak.

The evening will conclude with a charity auction and hamper draw.

The charity’s annual Plough Service returns to Sandford Parish Church on Sunday, January 15, starting at 6pm.

The service will be led by Rev Paul Fillery, the newly licenced priest at Sandford, and the plough will be carried into the church for blessing by members of Newton St Cyres Young Farmers’ Club.

The preacher will be Robert Partridge, a farmer from Teignmouth.
