COPPLESTONE Farm Shop has moved to Lapford, and all the produce that had been sold at Copplestone is now available at its new home at the Lapford Butcher at the top of the village.

Ian and Julie Bullock and their son Peter took over the butcher's shop from A L Martin and Son more than five years ago.

"We had been at the Farm Shop at Copplestone for eight years but sadly, due to the recession, we decided to move everything under the one roof, as we were already established here at Lapford as a butchers but did not sell vegetables," said Julie.

"We have finished trading at Copplestone and we have no connection with any enterprise which may start up there.

"We sell our own produced beef, pork and lamb, reared traditionally and grow most of the vegetables we sell also in the traditional way," said Julie.

As well as the meat and poultry, vegetables and fruit, they sell Taw Valley cheeses, milk from Dunn Brothers of Exbourne, bread from Chulmleigh Bakery, Highfield Preserves from Tiverton, eggs from the their farm and Julia makes the cakes.

They do deliveries around the local area. People can telephone in orders (01363 83229) or to check which sort of sausages are being made this week in addition to the regular sort.

The shop is open from 9am-3pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 9am-1pm on Saturdays. There is space outside for parking. Lapford Butchers also make up barbecue and freezer boxes of meat.

Julia sells their produce at the local markets at Bow and Morchard Bishop and will be at the first Down St Mary market on the third Saturday in April, 10am-12noon.
