CREDITON Town Councillor Louise Martin has volunteered at seven of the Covid-19 Vaccination days held at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre to-date.

It is a family affair on some of these occasions when her parents, David and Marilyn Carpenter also help out.

Among the other volunteers who have been helping are members of the Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface and Crediton and District Lions Club.

Local GP practices are working together in the Mid Devon Healthcare Primary Care Network (PCN) and patients registered with Bow and North Tawton Medical Practice, Cheriton Bishop and Teign Valley Surgery, Chiddenbrook Surgery, New Valley Practice, Mid Devon Medical Practice and Wallingbrook Health Group are being invited for their injections.

The Crediton Vaccination centre was spearheaded by Dr Jo Harris, clinical director for the PCN and GP partner at New Valley Practice, and Michelle Freeburn, lead manager for the PCN and managing partner at Bow and North Tawton Medical Practices.

Thousands of people have so far received their vaccinations at the Crediton Vaccination centre thanks to the efforts of the NHS and practice staff and the volunteers.

Most people in the top priority groups have been vaccinated locally and further dates are being organised for people in further age band groups.

There has been a great deal of praise for all those who make everyone feel welcome at the Vaccination Centre.
