THE delightful East Town Cafe in East Street run by Lucy Betts will be the venue for two special events.

On August 18, at 7pm for 7.30pm, the Cafe will host a Poetry Night.

A free evening, those who attend will be invited to read their own poetry or other poetry or just go along and sit and listen.

The rule is up to two poems per person.

Lucy hopes that the Poetry Night’s will be held on a regular basis.

Refreshments will be available.

On September 16 Chris Scott will present an acoustic session, from 8.30pm until late.

The singer/songwriter will present original material. His music is described as having a blues/soul style and he has played across the world, including many venues in America.

Donations will be accepted in aid of ELF, Exeter Leukaemia Fund.

East Town Cafe serves Fair Trade coffee and is open for coffees, teas sandwiches, toasties, panini, ploughmen’s and home-made cake.

There is soup, baked potatoes and much more on the menu and specials are also available.

The cafe is open on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
