THE Magnificent AK’s are the singing blokes of Ashton Keynes, North Wiltshire and are in town on Friday, April 22 to perform with local community choir Sandford Sings in Crediton Congregational Church Hall.

The Magnificent AK’s sing original, eclectic material, about sheds, duct tape and beer, but also of life and love and Ukraine, with their deep Georgian-inspired harmonies and silliness. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face, make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and leave you with tears of joy and empathy towards the rigours of being a new age man in the 21st Century.

The troupe have sung in The Colston Hall, Bristol and The Roundhouse, London, appeared live on Radio 3’s “The Choir” and sung outdoors on Windmills, White Horses and at Stonehenge.

Claire Anstee, Sandford Sings Musical Director, says: “We are so excited to be joining these funny and inspiring singers.

“They have really taken community singing to another level!

“It will be wonderful to finally perform again to a live audience after two years of singing outside or on Zoom in our living rooms! Singing has been one of the last activities allowed to get back to normal once Covid restrictions were lifted, so it really has been such a joy to finally meet in person, sing and connect as a choir again - along with the two million other people in the UK who belong to choirs.”

Sandford Sings is a fun and frolicsome community choir which meets every Wednesday at 7.30pm at the Parish Hall in Sandford.

The choir will be sharing a mix of stunning world and folk music harmonies.

There will be a bar and delicious home-made cakes on sale and all profits will go to The British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.

If you have missed live music then this will really be a singing treat for all the family.

The concert starts at 7pm and tickets are £9/£7.
