ON Saturday, May 2, The Crediton Singers are marking the May Day weekend with a 3pm concert at St Lawrence Chapel, near St Lawrence Green.
With music ranging from Elizabethan Madrigals to 1950s musicals by composers including Thomas Morley, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Ivor Novello and John Rutter, they offer a Celebration of Spring.
The Singers’ performance, ‘Now is the month of maying’, will last an hour, and will be followed by refreshments.
It is free to attend, donations invited in aid of the Chapel and The Motor Neurone Disease Assocation (MNDA) — a charity of importance to the Singers’ musical director, Philip Lancaster, whose brother has MND and has received invaluable support from MDNA.
The Singers will be joined by pianist Nigel Guthrie and flautist Tina Guthrie.
