FOLLOWING its September event with bestselling author Joanne Harris, Crediton-based charity The Folklore Library and Archive has scored another coup for the town, this time in the form of an evening of ghost stories with Spitting Image star Steve Nallon, the voice of Kenneth Williams, Queen Elizabeth II, and Margaret Thatcher, among many others.

One of the founder members of the Spitting Image team, Steve’s extraordinary talent for impressions saw him portray a string of characters during the show’s 18 seasons between 1984 and 1996.

Expect some celebrity guests, as Steve shares extracts from his book “Steve Nallon’s Ghost Stories”, which will be available to buy on the night.

Whether it’s a creepy tale which evokes the style of M R James, or a romp about the ghost of Hattie Jacques as told by Kenneth Williams, each of Steve’s stories will draw you in – the perfect entertainment for a winter’s evening!

Steve is an expert on the history of the ghost story, and there will also be discussion of the subject, as well as the chance for audience questions and interaction.

Steve Nallon’s Ghost Stories will take place at The Boniface Centre on Friday, December 12 at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).

This event is a fundraiser for The Folklore Library and Archive. The charity is dedicated to the preservation of folkloric materials and making them freely accessible to the public.

Having taken on some significant donations in recent months, funds raised from this event will enable the charity to continue its work to catalogue and share these items with the public.
