THERE’S never been a better time to visit Crediton as the town prepares to welcome back the ever-popular Crediton Food Festival on Saturday, July 11.
Running from 11am to 4pm in Newcombes Meadow, with free admission, the festival will once again provide a bustling marketplace celebrating the very best of Devon’s food and drink.
Proudly sponsored by Ashgrove Kitchens, this year’s event will feature more than 25 of Devon’s finest food and drink producers and traders, alongside street food vendors, independent retailers and community organisations, giving visitors the opportunity to discover new flavours, meet local makers and enjoy a welcoming day out in the heart of Crediton.
A highlight of this year’s festival will be the demonstration tent, kindly provided by Ashgrove Kitchens, featuring a full programme of live cookery demonstrations throughout the day.
Visitors will be able to watch talented chefs and food specialists in action, pick up new recipes and techniques, and celebrate the incredible quality of local ingredients and produce.
Families will find plenty to enjoy throughout the day, with a programme of creative and interactive activities designed to inspire visitors of all ages.
Local artists Jess Carvill and James Hedge will be leading family-friendly creative sessions, while Jonty Depp of Pocketwatch Theatre and Isabella’s Story Bicycle will entertain younger visitors with imaginative storytelling and interactive performances.
Adding to the festival atmosphere, the spectacular Higher Beings circus performers will be bringing colour, energy and moments of surprise to the streets of Crediton.
Music will provide the soundtrack to the day, with live performances taking place throughout the festival.
Audiences can enjoy performances from Crediton Town Band, the Crediton Strummers, and Devon folk artists Benjamin Akira Tallamy and Maz McNamara, creating a lively atmosphere from start to finish.
